Gesell Institute of Human Development is an independent non-profit organization located on the Yale campus. Our staff is excited to be organizing a one-day Early Childhood Leadership Conference in New Haven, Connecticut on October 15, 2010 at the Omni Hotel at Yale.
A special pre-conference banquet is planned for October 14th in celebration of Gesell Institute’s 60th Anniversary and in advance of the 100th Anniversary of the Yale Child Study Center, also founded by Arnold Gesell, MD, in 1911. Ed Zigler, PhD, the founder of Head Start, will receive a special honor at the banquet for his pioneering work on behalf of children. Ashley Merryman, co-author of NurtureShock: New Thinking About Children will be the guest speaker. Gesell Alumni will also be featured at this event.
This two-day event will include world-renowned figures in child development and leaders in education reform. The conference will reintroduce and highlight the important role of child development in education, learning, and long-term school success.
