Along with this celebration, a Call for Gesell Alumni is underway. Anyone with a past association or relationship with the Institute is encouraged to register as a Gesell Alum by clicking here.

The Institute offers a variety of training, professional development, and parent/caregiver education opportunities across the country. Delivered by our carefully selected and highly talented National Lecture Staff (NLS), our workshops and seminars provide a comprehensive program for staff development, in-service training, and/or parent and family education.

Our well-known and beloved Gesell Developmental Observation (GDO) training workshops for educators have been offered for decades, but are constantly being updated and revised to meet the needs of today’s schools. Our full-day, half-day, and one-hour seminars, along with parent education or information workshops, are also very popular and work well in tandem with the GDO workshop or as stand-alone offerings. See our catalog for additional details.

Along with Gesell Developmental Observation materials, our classic parenting books continue to be in high demand throughout the country. Also available are updated informational booklets and child behavior pamphlets for parents and teachers; a web-based radio program for parents and professionals; and a DVD, Ready for Kindergarten, featuring interview footage with nationally recognized early childhood experts, parents, and master teachers.

Now underway: A national study on the GDO!

A national study is well underway to collect current baseline, exploratory, and normative data on the Gesell Developmental Observation. Data is currently coming in from around the country and technical data is expected to be released in time for Back to School 2010. Click here for details and updates about this important study.
